What a rush....

Seems the slower I go ...
the faster the days slip by!
Explain that to me, please?

I remember Mom saying
"the hurrier I go, the behinder I get"
So I try to stay present and pull every
special ounce out of every day.
... and still
THIS Thursday is Thanksgiving!!

SO! I'm pulling out my Mod Ornament Purse today!

where life takes us...

akimberlydesign.blogspot.com
I may have been about 4+ here.
This was our passport picture.
We were off to France
with my Dad and the Air Force.
Mom had never flown!
Let alone across the ocean with a
precocious child and a baby!!
Found this while digging for photos last night and
it afforded me a blog title ... so many adventures.

What a journey this Magic Carpet has afforded me.
Early beginnings.

Finished and looking fairly organized.
Not so much these days!

This blog has taken me on a few adventures.
The above photo is courtesy of a special client.
What an honor to paint this
on the wall of this beautiful home.

... and now, it's available
on either 18ct or 13ct painted canvas!!
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram,
you've seen my stitching progress
on the 13ct version.  It's to be a bench
cushion in my studio.
A place for my precocious
granddaugther to perch ...
or our newest addition,
a grandson to come this summer!
OR ... it can be yours!!

Next up ... want to learn how to make Kumihimo Braid???
I make these for all my purse designs, for me, they're perfect.
This is my Mod Ornament Purse.

Can't believe I finished this
in time to carry!

Just a little sparkle.
Wish I could sit in my chair and stitch in the dark!
Doesn't seem to work out too well!

This can be yours too!
Sold through your local needlework shop

This proud and colorful Cardinal

my friend Stew Russell.
He definitely puts me in the holiday mood.
Just love it!

A few new pieces!
In time for the Dallas Market!

This "PEACE"
has been in my stash of designs for awhile.
Originally a special request, now available for all.
akimberlydesign.blogspot.com
This was my original, made into
a computer bag for moi!
The tie dye may be different on
yours but the special
Peace Sign stitch I did will be the same.
The guide has peace throughout!

How I do this ...
not sure if others follow
a similar path but
this works for me when
a piece is stitch painted.
MOST of mine are ...

influenced...

akimberlydesign.blogspot.com
Here I am calmly stitching along on my
"basketweave" piece, watching Scrooge.
Can early exposure to Dr. Seuss have influenced
my color muse?
akimberlydesign.blogspot.com
It's almost finished!
I may actually have it ready to use before
the big day! Behind the ornaments are stripes
of tinsel yet to be stitched.
This makes me happy!

This is me avoiding the bead work
on Harrumph's planet and moons.
My son is coming for Christmas and I felt the need to
deck the halls in celebration of his arrival for the holidays!

Mom lined up our fun mod ornaments for hanging.
akimberlydesign.blogspot.com
I've never hung outdoor lights before.
Turns out
"I've Got This"!

Love this color combination!

Definite advantage to living in the South.
We don't need to buy Poinsettias for in the house,
they're in the yard growing!
Beautifully!

As soon as I went inside,
the grounds crew came to check
out the new additions.
