...my dad

akimberlydesign.blogspot.com
I know this is an odd picture, but this was my Dad, always doing, going, fixing .... if he'd not been on a ladder cleaning the outside of the house on a fine summer day, he might have missed his first heart attack.  That was Dad.

So this is harder than I thought it would be, seems you are never as 'prepared' as you think you are.  Never quite ready, even when your heart knows it is the best path taken.

  1. Namaste, dear Kimberly. Your Dad's path has been chosen and all your friends wish him the best of journeys. It's a journey we all have to take, no avoidance. It can never be easy for those left behind. We just have our memories.

  2. Kim, my heart aches too. Mother left us Thanksgiving morning. She peacefully passed away in her sleep after a life well lived. It's not easy to let go no matter what their age. Keeping you close in my heart and thoughts as you travel this journey. Hugs ~ Sarah

  3. Am so very sorry, Kim. I know from my own experience how hard it is. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's been a few years since my father passed, seven more than that since my mother did. I still remember the moment/time. We were "prepared" for both, but as you say, you're never really prepared, no matter how appropriate that path may be. Thinking of you.
